Inuits (Eskimos) are tribes come to the North from the heart of the central Asia in the post - glacial age. Since that time they settled in the extremity of the Chukotski Peninsula, in Alaska and in the Canadian North. Inuits' life in the Extreme North cannot be considered light, however, they adapted themselves to extreme conditions of both continents during many thousand years, and this is evidence of flexibility and plasticity of this people. Russia's inuits live in the sea - cost of the Cukotski Peninsula, they are engaged in sea trapping, treatment of products of sea trapping, keep fur farms, are engaged in treatment of hides, bone carving and reindeer breeding, which helps them to survive successfully in the environmental niche occupied in time immemorial.

However, notwithstanding good adaptability, the problems have remained with Russia's Inuits. Desire to assist to solve at least a part of accumulated vital problems has became one of tasks of our association. It was founded in June 1991 in the capital of the Chukotski autonomic district, the city of Anadyr, which is situated between latitude 64 and latitude 65 north. The general director of the association, since the date of its foundation, is Potikhonov Nikolai Nikolaevich, manager combining experience of a manger of the state enterprises, a head of subdivisions of the Administration of the Chukotski autonomic district and a businessman, who adapted himself successfully to the market conditions of Russia and conducts a multi - purposed enterprise within many years. About twenty engineers and young managers are engaged in the enterprise, they tirelessly work to achieve success.

The logotype of the association demonstrates an Inuit, sea hunter, wearing worm and strong clothes of seal's and reindeer's hides, the clothes being decorated by a beautiful ornament in accordance with national traditions. He holds in the left hand a rotary harpoon, a refined summit of Inuits' inventory thought. Quality and refinement, nobleness of Inuits' intentions, good adaptability to the conditions of life in the North and an idea of unity of continents have served as a prehistory of the name of the industrial and commercial association "Inuit"..
